The thing can actually hold enough water to raise a goldfish or two...

Also, cool sight of the day:

S1 Z32 300ZX spoilers tended to hold water. They also tended to bubble and crumble where the bolts holding them in would rust.

See here .

Nah, no risk for that as far as I’m concerned, it’s 100% plastic there... Stagnant water doesn’t get into contact with any bit of metal.

The Z32 seems to be the ultimate top gear car.

Ambitious but rubbish.

(I still like it)

I think the Z32 was ambitious but very good :( World’s biggest Z32 fan over here. It got kicked around a bit by the Supra and RX-7, but it also pre-dated them by 4 years. When it came out it was the absolute benchmark for Japanese sports cars, it made everything else look 10 years older.

I still think that in term of great design it doesn’t beat the 1991 RX7 :)

Sure it came out one year after the Z32, but still, I keep on thinking the FD RX7 is THE best timeless design ever created.

Actually, I didn’t realize that was so soon after the Z32, though the Z32 was actually birthed in 1989.

It is a timeless design, I like it a lot too. So unlike anything else, even other Mazdas at the time! It’s the car I pick most often in video games (where I don’t have to deal with all the drawbacks of the rotary).

Yeah, it arrived late in the US, and left very early too lol... I’d like to get myself a FD at some point, because of how cheap they are here... But my next car will be a bit more economical to drive than the SA haha :)

Australia was the same :( And we only got the NA 2+2, no 2-seaters, turbos, hardtops or convertibles.

You should do it! Such a special car the FD. Oppo does not belong to those who want economy :P

Yeah, but there are limits lol... One rotary at a time. I won’t mind a second rotary as a third car, but gas mileage is really, REALLY too fucking ridiculous lol. I average 20L/100km right now... That’s 12mpg or so.

So I want something else as a 2nd car. A friend is currently restoring a 911SC, but he is busy on other things, so it takes him forever... Or that same friend also has a VERY nice Lancia Fulvia Zagato 1st series that he is willing to sell me for way, way under market price. I’ll make my final decision in a few months :)

That’s crazy for such a small car!

You’d buy a Lancia!? It may be economoical, but it can’t be cheap to run can it?

You’ve no need to convert your fuel consumption to imperial, we both live in 2016 :)

Well, it’s not a Delta Integrale lol... It’s a late 1960's car :)

Old Lancias are very easy to fix, like pretty much any older cars. Only thing is rust, but here in Japan, it’s not that much of a problem.

And fine I’ll stick to the logical way to measure stuff now :)

Yes, but a late 60s car from Italy! Good luck with it, and I expect to see lots of posts about it if you do get it.

It’s really not that bad. Carburetors are regular Solex, anything electrical is reduced to a minimum... Heck, even the Fiat Dino Coupe I used to own was actually pretty damn reliable for what it was :)
